Firstly, could you please start off by telling us about your journey towards being a VA Rep? Sure. I come from a military family with my father and uncles serving in the military. I also served in the Navy, stationed in San Diego for a couple of years. When I returned, I saw that there was a job opening for a VA representative, so I took that position in 2015. Since then, I have been working as a representative, and my office is located in the VA in Kerala. In my role, I work with veterans who are homeless or in need of assistance. Many veterans don't have anyone to help them navigate the process of getting the benefits they need, so I advocate for them. I also work with regular veterans who are trying to get their claims started. My main goal is to ensure that all veterans are taken care of. Often, veterans don't feel comfortable sharing their stories with a representative, fearing that it won't go anywhere. However, I strive to be non-judgmental, listen to everyone, and help in any way I can. This is especially important for female veterans, who may feel like they won't be taken seriously or supported. I encourage them to come talk to a service officer to see if they can get the assistance they need....
